The company of hygiene, health and nutrition products Reckitt collected, last Sunday (19), more than 145 thousand cans of ProSobee, plant-based powdered food for babies up to one year old, sold in the US and in Puerto Rico. The product is no longer marketed in Brazil since November 2022.
The company claims that two batches manufactured between August and September last year and valid until March 1, 2024 were contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii. This bacteria reproduces in dry places and can lead to complications such as sepsis and meningitis, when ingested.

In the same text, Reckitt declared that the contamination was caused by an external supplier of a component of the product and that he will cut relations with it.
