Fins a 1,368 young people from Girona have benefited from the aid to rent, with a total amount of 2.6 million euros. The Government is opening one this Wednesday extraordinary line of rental aid for under 36s of 6.7 million euros, addressed exclusively to the 3,683 applicants who did not receive the subsidy due to lack of budget. This has been reported by the Department of Territory and Sustainability, to which the Housing Agency depends, which has indicated that the Government received a total of 28,384 applications for the 2022 call, of which 13,468 were granted , 11,226 more were refused and 7 needed to award documentation.

A total of 3,683 evaluated and eligible applications were excluded from the grant, since the 29 million euros that were expected had been used up. It is these applicants who will now be able to reapply for this benefit, so they will have to provide the rent receipts paid in 2022. All these people will receive an SMS from this week informing them of the result of the request.

The majority of grants granted, 9,459, for an amount of 22.10 million euros, correspond to the province of Barcelona, followed by that of Tarragona, with 1,769 grants and 2.9 million. The last demarcation is Lleida with 872 grants, according to data from the Generalitat.

This help for young renters was called by the Catalan government “after finding that the call made by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of the Good Youth was insufficient”, according to details from the Department.
