Having lost the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia are now certain that they will not be able to win the series.

The best Test team in the world needs to win the next two Tests to level the series.

The series has been tied only once (2003-2004) in the history of the Border – Gavaskar Trophy. The only way for the Aussies to hide their embarrassment is to draw the series.

Now there are reports that Australia are trying to bring one of the best batsmen the world has seen and Australia’s World Cup hero Matthew Hayden as coach for the remaining two matches of the series.

Leading sports media such as Cric Today and Insider Sport are reporting that Andrew MacDonald, the current coach of Aussies, is trying to bring Hayden into the team.

MacDonald wants Hayden to become Australia’s coach to prevent India from whitewashing the series.

Hayden is currently with the commentary team of Star Sports.

Earlier, the player had taken charge as the batting consultant of the Pakistan men’s team. During this period there was a good performance from the side of Pakistani batters.

The Aussies suffered a miserable defeat in the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Aussies were defeated by an innings and 132 runs in the first match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association ground in Nagpur. Most of the Aussies’ star players faded in the first Test.

The Aussies lost the second Test in Delhi after the fans made them think they might win. In the first innings, the kangaroos won a total of 265 runs and did not allow India to take the lead.

The Aussies fell apart in front of the storm that was Ravindra Jadeja, although they formed a good partnership for the first wicket in the second innings. Australia fell from 1 for 61 to 113 all out.

India came out with a target of 115 runs and won by losing four wickets.

The next match in the series is on March 1. The venue is Holkar Stadium, Indore.
