” I’m doing well. It’s good to come back after leaving the hospital, to be able to come and say hello and attend the training, ”says Azpilicueta to the assembly. The latter also returned to the events of Saturday which led to his evacuation from the field.
“It was scary, especially for loved ones and family. You know, the last thing I remember is when the corner was about to be taken. Then when I woke up, the supporters were chanting my name,” he says. He also evokes this moment which had marked the spirits when Azpilicueta had found the strength, to greet the stands with a wave of the hand when leaving the field on a stretcher. “I wanted to say thank you. It was instinctive,” he says.
For Azpilicueta, the return to competition is not yet relevant. “We have to take it step by step” specifies the player who will “little by little” resume training within “a few days. »
