Samsung may have decided on a series of cuts to its line of devices, including reducing the number of Galaxy S24 models and giving up on the Galaxy A74, but it is not giving up on the mid-range market where most of its revenue comes from. After launching the Galaxy A14, it is on its way to launching the following phones in the hierarchy: Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34.

It is estimated that both devices will be officially presented during the next month, and in the meantime images of the devices have already been revealed on the Fonearena website, and according to the images both borrow a lot of design elements from the company’s current flagship devices in the Galaxy S23 family.

The Galaxy A54, according to the report, will offer a 6.4-inch sAMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution with a camera hole in the center, and with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is also a fingerprint sensor under the display. The processor will be an Exynos 1380 with four Cortex-A78 cores at a maximum speed of 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at a maximum speed of 2 GHz. The graphics chip will be a five-core Mali-G68.

The phone will come with 8 gigabytes of working memory and a choice between 128 and 256 gigabytes of built-in storage memory, with the possibility of expansion by another 1 terabyte using a microSD card. The main camera will have a 30-megapixel sensor and an optical image stabilizer. It will be accompanied by a wide-angle camera with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel depth camera. In front there will be a 32-megapixel camera.

A 5,000 mAh battery with charging at a maximum power of 25 watts, NFC and 5G as well as Bluetooth 5.1 complete the configuration picture together with Android 13 straight out of the box. The estimate says that it will be sold at a price of around 500 euros.

The Galaxy A34 will have a larger screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches, and also in its case it is a sAMOLED screen with a FHD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but with a notch behind which there is only a 13 megapixel camera. Also here is the fingerprint sensor under the screen. The three cameras on the back offer a 48-megapixel sensor in the main camera, an 8-megapixel sensor in the ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel macro camera.

The processor chosen for this phone is MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080, which is the same in the structure of the cores, but the main ones are slightly slower with a maximum speed of 2.6 GHz. The graphics chip is also based on the same technology but with 4 cores, meaning one less core. It will be offered with 6/8 gigabytes of working memory and 128/256 gigabytes of expandable storage memory.

Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G complete the picture with Android 13 and of course ONE UI 5.1, and like its friend it will offer IP67 resistance. The price we are talking about is around 400 euros.
