Children can develop mental health conditions just like adults, but their symptoms can be different.

How do you help your child?

Parents play an important role in supporting the child’s treatment plan for any mental illness, by following the following:

Identify the nature of the disease that the child suffers from.

Visiting a psychiatrist and mental illness, bearing in mind attending family sessions that deal with the family as partners in the treatment plan.

Seek advice from a mental health professional on how to deal with a child’s difficult behaviour.

Learn stress management techniques to help the child respond calmly.

Find ways to relax and have fun with the child. – Praise the child’s strengths and abilities.

Cooperating with the child’s school to provide the necessary support for him.
