Adam Barrow re-elected Gambian president: Opposition alleges coup d’etat

BunchAdama Borough re-elected President of Gambia On Sunday, the country’s Election Commission released the information. The Barrow’s National People’s Party won 40 of the 53 constituencies.

Gambia is a country where people have a special way of electing leaders by depositing marble balls (marbles) in boxes. Currently, this is the only country in the world where such a democratic voting system exists.

Opposition groups called for the beleagured PM to resign. Five opposition candidates are running against Barrow in this election. Opponents not only disagreed with the outcome of the election, but also threatened to take legal action against Barrow.
