Abu Dhabi: A new policy has been formulated in Abu Dhabi for the proper use and conservation of groundwater, one of the major natural resources.
The policy aims to reduce the use of groundwater by 65 crore cubic meters by 2030. The policy is expected to help achieve the goals of reducing waste, increasing public awareness of groundwater resources, and promoting better irrigation practices and practices.
EAD said that 60 percent of the total water resources in the emirate is groundwater and it is mainly used for agricultural purposes. Secretary General Dr. Sheikha Salem Al Daheri said.
