Puducherry: The Governor has approved the issue of uniforms to the Home Guards along with the Police.
Based on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the central government issued orders to provide various steps including uniforms to the uniformed personnel.
Based on that. The Governor authorized the granting of permanent travel allowance to the Puducherry IRB Police on par with the Union Territory Police.
Following this, Governor Tamilisai has now given his approval to issue uniforms to the Home Guards on par with the police.
In a press release issued by the Secretariat of the Governor’s office, this approval has been given based on the decision taken by the Central Government to issue uniforms to the uniformed personnel based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.
Through this, it is said that Rs.5,000 per year will be given to Home Guard soldiers as uniform.
