Careless dumping of food parcels and utensils can be harmful not only to humans but also to animals and birds. Pollution of the earth can be harmful to living things in many ways. It can lead to diseases and long-term health consequences. A new viral video from Puri in Odisha shows that even a simple object like a beer can can pose a threat to living things if not properly removed.

The video shows a four-foot-long cobra struggling to free itself after being trapped inside a beer can. According to reports, the snake was spotted by locals in Madhipur village. Wildlife officials had to come to the rescue as the cobra’s head was completely trapped in the open area of the discarded beer can.

The handler can be seen cutting one side of the can to allow the snake to breathe. After removing the snake’s head from the metal can, experts covered its mouth with an open plastic tube to prevent it from biting anyone. Experts then cut off the remaining can to completely free the snake. Experts said it took more than 20 minutes for the snake to be released, after which the wounds were treated and released back into the wild.

In June, a woman rescued an eight-foot-long cobra in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. Sasmite Gochait and her husband were shocked to see a two-year-old child crawling near a snake that had entered their home. The husband reacted quickly and grabbed his son before jumping out of the window. But Sasmita did not panic and went to catch the poisonous snake. The husband said he called a range officer named Krishna Gochait and informed him of the incident. Fortunately, no one was bitten or injured. Later, it was released into the wild.
