Dubai: The government has avoided charging a special fee proportional to the ticket price of events held in Dubai. The action is aimed at increasing the profits of the organizers of events in the Emirate of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, issued an order in this regard. With this, it is expected that Dubai will become a venue for more international and regional events.

The Department of Finance and Tourism levied a fee of 10 per cent, or Dh10 per guest, based on the value of the ticket sold. At the same time, the authorities clarified that they will continue to charge for annual subscription for e-permit and e-ticketing systems. With the new law amendment, it is expected that the ticket price of many programs will decrease. The new change is part of the Dubai Economic Agenda-D33.
