Malappuram: Cargo lorry overturned accident at Valanchery Vattapara turn. The lorry, which was carrying cement from Kozhikode, lost control at a bend and crashed into the security wall.
Lorry driver Shivabalan, a native of Tamil Nadu, was admitted to the hospital. The incident happened on Friday at 10 pm. Hearing the sound, local residents and passengers rushed to the rescue operation but could not pull out the driver.
Then the information was reported to the Valanchery police and the Tirur fire brigade office. Officials reached the spot and immediately started rescue operations.
At the end of an hour’s effort, the driver was cut and pulled out of the lorry’s cabin.
The injured driver, Shivabalan, was admitted to a hospital in Valancherry. Valanchery Police, Fire Force team from Highway Police Tirur, National Highway Construction Company workers and locals carried out the rescue operation.
