Man gets trapped in leopard cage after going in to catch rooster

by time news

A man was trapped in a trap used to capture leopards when he caught the rooster that was being used as bait. The case took place in the village of Bulandshahr.

Forest guards were passing by to check if the cage had captured any animals, when they heard the cries for help and ran to help.

The man was promptly released, but not before officers recorded video of the opportunist grabbing the bars and calling for his release.

“We set the trap to capture the leopard after the information that he was roaming the area. We searched for him for some time before putting the cage”, said, in an interview with ANI, Forestry Department official Radheshyam.

The trap closes immediately after an animal captures the bait inside it, with no way out.

This ancient method is widely used all over the world to capture all kinds of animals, whether for consumption, as in the case of indigenous tribes, or to relocate a predator, as in this case.

Leopards are commonly seen near villages looking for easy prey such as chickens and goats. This poses a serious risk to residents of the region, so the cat must be caught and taken somewhere far away from humans.

There have been cases where a single animal has injured and killed several villagers.
