The death toll from a volcanic eruption in Indonesia has risen to 15.

Chemeru Volcano is located in the East Java province of Indonesia. Slight smoke billowed from the 3,676-meter-high volcano yesterday. The volcano then erupted, and gray smoke billowed into the air.

Houses near the eruption were damaged. The bridge is not damaged. One person was killed and 41 others were injured in the blaze, local media reported.

The death toll from the eruption has risen to 15. 100 people have been injured. 900 people have been evacuated from the area. 27 people are missing.

More than 3,000 homes and 38 schools near the volcano were also damaged. Many residents near the volcano have been evacuated and are being held in shelters during a two-day rescue operation.
