DECRYPTION – An international team, which has measured the growth rate of some of these cosmic ogres, believes that there could be a possible link with the expansion of the Universe, provided that exotic theoretical models are used. The case sparks debate.
It is a press release from the British Imperial College and RAL Space whose title could not fail to attract the attention of specialized journalists: “ Scientists have found the first evidence that black holes are the source of dark energy. “Damn. The secret of one of the greatest mysteries of cosmology, namely the nature of the phenomenon at the origin of the accelerated expansion of the Universe, would be directly attributable to the most exotic objects it contains, the famous holes black, so dense that nothing, not even light, manages to escape their gravitational grip! The story seems almost too good… What is it exactly?
