Batting first, Karachi Kings opener Matthew Wade batted sluggishly. James Vince, another opener who played in action, scored 27 runs off 12 balls. Tahir came to the 3rd row and scored a half century. Batting responsibly, Tahir scored 65 runs off 46 balls. But as opener Mathewedt batted abysmally and scored just 46 off 47 balls, Karachi Kings could only score 167 in 20 overs.
Multan Sultans fast bowler Isaanullah, who has been bowling tremendously this season, bowled tremendously in this match conceding only 22 runs in 4 overs and taking 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 168 runs, Multan Sultans openers Mohammad Rizwan and Shaun Masood both played well and scored 41 runs in 5 overs to set a good start. Shaun Masood scored 25 runs off 16 balls and Rizwan scored 29 runs. After that 2 action players Rylee Russo and David Miller were dismissed for 7 runs each. Shoaib Malik, a 41-year-old senior all-rounder playing for Karachi Kings, bowled exceptionally well even at this age and took 3 wickets conceding only 16 runs in 3.3 overs. Shamsi also helped the win by taking 3 wickets. Karachi Kings beat Multan Sultans who are at the top of the points table by a huge margin of 66 runs this season.
