On the first anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Putin’s army, the International Workers’ League (Fourth International) launched a page on its Ukrainian-language website.

February 26, 2023

The Ukrainian language will be the seventh language on the IWL-FI website along with Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Russian.

The first six articles discuss Putin’s war against Ukraine and the plight of the working class.

The first article is the IWL-FI manifesto that analyzes the events since the beginning of the Russian invasion and that points out the centrality of the Ukrainian working class in the struggle for national liberation and social emancipation.

The second article reports on the miners’ strike in Novovolynsk, western Ukraine, in September 2022, against the squandering of public assets, implemented by the new government-appointed director of Zelensky.

The third article deals with the decisive participation of women in the struggle for national liberation and for labor and social rights.

The fourth article brings a message from the president of the Kryvyi Rih miners and metallurgical union, Yuri Samoilov, thanking him for the international solidarity received and asking for its continuity in the midst of the Russian military attacks and the harsh winter.

The fifth article deals with the international conference of the Workers’ Aid to Ukraine campaign held last December.

The last article shows how the working class must respond to the challenges of war at a time when Putin decides to destroy the distribution of energy for the entire country, the capitalist oligarchy prioritizes its profits, and there is a lack of weapons to carry out a final offensive against the invaders.

All the articles analyze the facts from the point of view of the Ukrainian and international working class. The Ukrainian working class and the poor population will find on this page the intransigent defense of their rights against Putin, the Ukrainian oligarchy represented by the Zelensky government and the hypocrisy of the Western imperialist powers that want to negotiate with Putin the division of Ukraine through of the treacherous mechanism of peace negotiations.

We will also explain why Putin accused Lenin and the Bolsheviks of “creating” Ukraine. We will disseminate the positions of Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky in defense of the right to self-determination of the Ukrainian people against Joseph Stalin, who usurped the right of self-determination of the Ukrainian people and promoted the great famine in the 1930s.

We hope that, through this page, we will overcome language barriers and plant the seeds to build a revolutionary organization of Ukrainian male and female workers to lead the struggle for national liberation and social emancipation against capitalism, in unity with the international working class. .

Workers of all countries, unite!
