Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 13 Lite, a new member of the series intended for global marketing. The new model is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, and according to the company it should offer 20% performance compared to last year’s Xiaomi 12 Lite. It will be possible to purchase it with 8 gigabytes of working memory and 128 or 256 gigabytes for file storage.

The photography system also registers a significant improvement, with a main camera equipped with a 50 megapixel sensor made by Sony, whose size should allow 128% more light to enter than the 108 megapixel sensor of the Xiaomi 12 Lite. Next to it is a wide-angle camera with an 8-megapixel sensor and a macro camera. In front there is a selfie camera with a 32-megapixel sensor, and a new depth sensor. Both of them together come inside a kind of ‘island’ that reminds a little of that of the iPhone 14 Pro, but is actually already familiar from other phones on the market that offered a double hole.

The AMOLED screen, measuring 6.55 inches, offers a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mAh, with support for fast charging with a power of 67 watts – but without wireless charging. The operating system is MIUI 14, which in this model is actually based on the older Android 12. The device will come in blue, pink and black colors, and the base price in Europe will be 499 euros.

Alongside the Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi also announced the start of global marketing for the series models already launched in China. The regular Xiaomi 13 will cost from 999 euros, while the Pro model will cost no less than 1,299 euros. All models are expected to hit store shelves across the continent on March 8.
