Iberia has announced that it reinforces the air bridge between Madrid and Barcelonaalready offering the 86 weekly frequencies that it operated before the pandemic. Customers will have up to 15 daily flights in each direction for the summer season, which begins on March 25.

According to the company, Wednesdays will be the days with the highest operational activity. The air shuttle flight schedules cover all time slots, with takeoffs every 30 minutes at rush hour; the first from Madrid and Barcelona at 07:00 in the morning and the last between 21:00 and 21:30. Iberia maintains that the schedules allow for “comfortable roundtrips in the day” and is an “incentive for work trips”.
Thus, Iberia increases its market share in the air segment between Madrid and Barcelona by five points compared to 2019, up to 65%. In recent months, The occupancy levels of these flights have already been above 80%a figure that is close to those registered before the pandemic.
