Flamengo, with a reserve team, won, this Saturday (25), its first classic for the Campeonato Carioca against Botafogo, at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha.

The beginning of the classic guaranteed the first emotion: Flamengo’s goal was scored at 30 seconds of departure. Striker Matheus Gonçalves stole the ball on the left side, swung the defense and finished to open the scoring.
The result dictated the behavior of what would happen in the first half. Flamengo sought to manage the result and had as a strategy to leave possession of the ball to the alvinegra team.
In the 18th minute, midfielder Patrick de Paula hit from outside the area in Botafogo’s best response after conceding the goal.
The midfielder, however, ended up having a strong tackle, and was injured. He left the field crying. He was replaced by Lucas Fernandes.

Marked by consecutive fouls, the game became truncated. In the 21st minute, after a corner kick, the Red-Black team came close to scoring with Pablo, but the shot went wide.
The first half ended with the game controlled by the Flamengo team, despite the alvinegra team having possession of the ball.

The second half started similarly to the first half. The alvinegra team kept possession of the ball, but with difficulties to offer danger.
The best chance occurred in a move from the right with Daniel Borges, who had the cross deflected by defender Pablo.
In the middle of the second half, Flamengo took a risk again and almost extended the scoreboard. After a dangerous finish with Marinho, on the rebound Matheus França tried to finish but the ball was saved by the alvinegro goalkeeper, Sá.

In the 39th minute, Botafogo even tied the match, but the video refereeing (VAR) identified that Carlos Alberto, who put the ball in last, was offside.
In additions, players from Botafogo complained again about the arbitration. Tiquinho and Marçal were expelled. Joel Carli, who was on the bench, also complained and received the red.
