Gil Bismut, commander of the ZAKA in the Yosh, who was the first to arrive at the scene of the serious attack in Hawara, spoke with Avi Mimran in the “Main Edition”: “Hillel Weigal 14 were wonderful boys, they would always go down to the roads and give hot soup to the soldiers who came to guard. I knew them very closely, they were members of my family.”
“I came to the attack to honor what was left to honor, when I saw that these were members of my family, flesh and blood, it was much more difficult. I worked according to the rules without thinking too much, but then everything comes back,” he told Mimran.
“Even in the terrorist attack on the Vogel family, today marks 12 years since their murder on Saturday night, I arrived first. It is impossible to contain this horror. We believe in Hashem and know that everything is for the best, this land was bought through suffering,” he said.
“I think their will is to go out and strengthen the soldiers. We need to let the army work, and let the special units work, we have to love the soldiers and wrap them in love” said Bismuth.
