Senchi: The police should take steps to repair the signal which has been broken for the last 5 years in Senchi.

Next to Villupuram and Dindivan, Senchi is the most trafficked city. Vehicles ply from Puducherry to Tiruvannamalai, Bangalore and Mumbai through this route.

Similarly, vehicles from Chennai to Tiruvannamalai, from Villupuram to Vellar, Arani, Tirupati, Arcot and other towns pass through this route. Due to this there is always a traffic jam on Senchi Road.

Hence, a signal was erected to control the traffic on the Senchi Road 10 years ago.

Worked perfectly for 2 years. After this, the vehicles hit the signal poles and damaged them.

A few years later they renovated it again. After this it broke again about 5 years ago. After that they put the signal to rest without adjusting it.

Due to this, many people drive erratically during school and college hours in the morning and evening despite traffic police monitoring. This causes traffic congestion for many hours. School students and general public are struggling to cross the road.

Due to lack of signal, some people violate the rules and go to Chakattu Mani.

Therefore, the police authorities should take steps to rehabilitate the Kignal and make it operational again.

Also, as in major cities like Chennai, if the vehicles that violate the rules are monitored through automatic cameras and fined, the traffic in Senchi will be smoothed out.
