Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI) received a new mobile crane, with which it will now have five pieces of equipment of this type in operation.

The terminal invested US$ 6 million to complete the installation at site 3, where they arrived aboard the “BBC Maine” ship.

The structures of the Liebherr LHM 600 crane, which took about 8 months to build.

The equipment has a load handling capacity of up to 104 tons, a reach of 61 meters, row 20 (51 meters of beam). Additionally, ITI acquired a second crane of this type, which will arrive in Iquique near the end of 2023.

The ITI Operations Manager, Henry Balboa, indicated that the team will reinforce the work and improve the efficiency of the port terminal. “We increased ITI’s operational capabilities, with the aim of anticipating and having the necessary infrastructure for the new challenges we face, since clients always expect that cargo and container transfers are managed in the shortest possible time and with a good port serviceā€.
