The left channel of Gudiatham Mortana dam passes through KV Kuppam taluk. The canal is hilly at some places and hollow at some places. Due to this, in the canal area from Chinna Nagal to Devarishi Kuppam, the dam water does not flow smoothly and there is a situation where the water is stagnant like a puddle in some places.
It is customary to open the dam for agricultural irrigation in May next year ahead of the summer season. At that time, the work of digging the canal is going on by the Public Works Department so that there should be no obstruction to the flow of water in this canal. Accordingly, the repair work is going on in the canal with the Bokline machine. Officials of Water Resources Department, Public Works Department, District Panchayat Committee member Ashokumar and others visited it.
