The Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, ordered the opening of proceedings led by the Federal Police to expand federal collaboration in the investigations into the criminal organization that killed Marielle Franco, a PSOL councilor, and the driver Anderson Gomes in Rio de Janeiro, in March 2018.
By ordinance issued by the minister, delegate Guilhermo de Paula Machado Catramby was appointed to act in the PF investigation.
“In order to broaden federal collaboration in the framework of the investigations into the criminal organization that perpetrated the attacks against Marielle and Anderson, I determined the opening of an investigation by the Federal Police. We are doing everything possible to help clarify such murders,” explained the minister. .
It was decided that the Ministry of Justice, the Federal Police and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro will work together in order to deepen and conclude the investigations into the case.
The idea is to strengthen the working group of the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro, which already exists and is intended exclusively to investigate the evolution of the perpetrators of the crime.
