Kasargod: The CPM (CPM Leaders) visited the homes of party workers arrested by the CBI in connection with the murder of Periya Youth Congress activists (Periya Murder). A team led by CPM Kasargod District Secretary MV Balakrishnan visited the houses. The party has decided to defend the arrest politically.

The CPM is of the view that the arrest of the CBI in the Periya Double Murder Case is for political purposes. That is why district secretary MV Balakrishnan and state committee member Satish Chandran went to the homes of those arrested and expressed their support. The party leadership reiterated that all the five arrested last week were innocent.

The CPI (M) has said that the party did not know about the murder

During the CPM convention, there were arrests of five persons, including Echiladakkum branch secretary, and further retaliation, including that of district secretariat member and former MLA KV Kunhiraman. The leaders are now trying not to lose the morale of the activists. The leaders will mainly explain the CBI action in the Peri case in the upcoming area conferences.
