Coimbatore: The ‘Red Diamonds Cricket Club’ team won by 25 runs in the district level second division cricket league match.
On behalf of Coimbatore District Cricket Association, the second division cricket league match for ‘Universal Heat Exchange Cup’ was held at PSG, Medical College ‘A’ ground. In this, ‘Winks Cricket Club’ and Red Diamonds teams clashed.
Batting first in the match, Red Diamonds lost all wickets for 160 runs in 46.4 overs. Team Sivakumar (50) scored a half century. Winks’ Ayyappan took three wickets.
Only Deepak (32) of the Winks team, who came on the field, did not want to play the responsibility. Thus, the Winks team was all out for 135 runs in 38.3 overs. Karthik of the Red Diamonds helped the team win by taking three wickets.
Similarly, Miracle CC and NIA Education Group CC clashed in a third division match at Pollachi NPT College. Batting first, Miracle scored 246 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Rajes (33), Karthik (61) and Vinod Kumar (91) played well for the team. NIA’s Gokulakrishnan took three wickets.
Playing next, NIA was bowled out for 156 runs in 32.1 overs. Ashok Kumar (34) and Gokulakrishnan (32*) added runs for the team. Miracle’s Rajesh and Ranjith took three wickets each. Miracle team won by 90 runs.
