An unusual incident occurred earlier today (Monday) near the settlement of Shebi Shomron: a number of settlers rioted in the area and threw stones at Palestinians, as a result of which the IDF force was called to the point. At one point, an Israeli citizen tried to run over an IDF officer who was staying at the point, the force responded by shooting at the vehicle’s wheels, and the vehicle fled.

An IDF spokesperson stated in response: “The IDF condemns any manifestation of violence, certainly against soldiers and the security forces. The IDF will continue to work to maintain security, law and order in Judea and Samaria and works in cooperation, together with the enforcement agencies, in order to bring the perpetrators to justice on the law”. Defense Minister Yoav Galant Condemned the incident: “An attack on IDF soldiers by Jewish rioters is a very wrong and serious act. There will be no tolerance towards lawbreakers. It is the IDF that gives life to the State of Israel and its citizens, the commanders and soldiers work around the clock to protect the residents of the State of Israel.
