Within the framework of the digital transformation in health, the Hospital de Especialidades Portoviejo (HEP) received a visit from officials from the Baca Ortiz Pediatric Hospital in Quito, the Vice Presidency of the Republic, the National Directorate of Hospitals and technological areas of the Ministry of Public Health ( MSP) for the exchange of information on the management of medical records.
David Yépez, an official of the Vice Presidency of the Republic, indicated that “the work carried out in the HEP is evidenced in each of the modules presented and that they allow better hospital management for users.”
The guided tour made it possible to learn about the technological tools developed in this health center in the province of Manabí, as well as the experiences resulting from the implementation of the hospital management computer system that, in an integral way, makes the portfolio of services of this house operational. health, providing greater efficiency by unifying processes in an integrated process.
Among the areas and services visited were external consultation, pharmacy, ICTs, among others, where they verified the operation of the computer system that allows the delivery of health services to users in an agile and timely manner.
For his part, Alex Alvear, a specialist from the MSP’s National Hospital Directorate, congratulated the efforts of the HEP in the development of the computer system. “This advance allows us to improve the management of medical records. These systems could be replicated in other health centers in the country”, he affirmed.
