Communications Minister Dr. Shlomo Karai said this morning (Tuesday) that the State of Israel is on the technological map.

Minister Karai also said: “Last night I had the privilege of opening the Israeli pavilion at the mobile phone exhibition MWC in Barcelona.

In an impressive presentation, in which the Israeli representatives presented the best innovations, solutions and applications in the cellular field, we proved that the State of Israel is a leading player in the global high-tech field.”

Following this, he added: “I made it my goal during my tenure at the Ministry of Communications to focus on the worlds of developing the fifth generation technological applications in the country that will make Israel the world leader in fifth generation technologies.

Another main task facing the Ministry of Communications in the coming years is the retirement of advanced communications infrastructure. Israel cannot afford to be left behind.

The Israeli Pavilion and the representatives of the state advance us another step towards the goal and fulfill Isaiah’s vision: “For the earth is full of the knowledge of the Lord as waters cover the sea” – by deploying international communication infrastructures with submarine cables we give another dimension to this vision.”
