History in the world of technology: the collaboration between the two largest companies in the field (and in general), Apple and Microsoft, which has developed in recent years is now reaching a new stage, with Microsoft’s announcement today (Tuesday) of a new update to Windows 11 that will allow iPhone users to enjoy almost perfect connectivity between the smartphone of Apple for a computer running Microsoft’s operating system.

Panos Panai, Microsoft’s VP of Product, announced the release of an experimental version of Microsoft’s Phone Link application for the iPhone. This is an application that has been available for Android for several years (although its names have changed several times), and on Samsung devices it even comes built-in on all flagship devices ( Galaxy S and Z) since 2018 and this year even in the cheaper Galaxy A devices. For Android owners, it currently allows connecting the smartphone to the computer, accessing calls and messages from the computer, and even running applications from the smartphone on the computer screen. The last feature is not currently available in the iPhone version, but Probably should come in the future, so that the iPhone will allow in Windows everything that it allows in Apple’s Mac computers.

In addition, the next version of Windows 11 will bring to the search bar built into the taskbar the artificial intelligence that was integrated into Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, in the last two weeks. Or, in other words: typing a search in this line will open the new Bing interface to the user. All in an attempt to get people to use Microsoft’s failed search engine.

We emphasize that it is not clear whether the feature will be available to all users, with an emphasis on users in Israel, in light of the fact that the writer of these lines has so far not been able to get access even to the online version of the new engine.

Other features that come to Windows 11 in the new update include control of effects for video calls – creating the illusion that the user is looking at the camera and not at the screen below it, blurring the background, artificially moving the camera (i.e. zooming in on the user and keeping him in the center of the image when he moves in front of the camera) and background noise filtering – from the quick settings in the notification curtain; option to expand the widget feed to the entire screen, reminiscent of the Windows 8 tile interface; Screen recording in the screenshot application; Tabs in the notepad; and a power consumption settings menu that allows you to ask the computer to save consumption in various ways, such as dimming the screen lighting, processor speed, turning off connected accessories if they are not in use, and more.

The new update is already available to beta testers of Windows, or as Microsoft calls them, Insider Previews. In the coming month, she plans to start distributing it to all users.
