Israel’s legendary comedy stars, including Tzipi Shavit, Shlomo Baraba, Tzipi Mor and Eli Tzipan, will take part in the festival “The One Who Laughs First”, the comedy and humor festival named after Sefi Rivlin, which will be held again this year in Rishon Lezion, the city where he lived. This year’s event, which will be held on Purim, will also mark 140 years for the city.

In a joint interview on News 12, the four were interviewed and reminisced about the legendary comedian ahead of the event. “We all worked with him, we all loved him, and we all think he left us too soon,” said Tzipi Shavit, “the terrible thing was that in the end they took out his strings. Until then he was fighting. And you know Sefi without strings is like maybe… Messi without Foot.”

Rivlin was a guest on “The Evening with Eli Yitzfan” several times, and the stand-up comedian says that “every time he was a guest at our place, I would say bring another set. Sefi is coming, prepare another table.”

The actress Tzipi Moore, who collaborated with Rivlin in the mythological series “A Moment with Dudley” and “The House of Pistachio”, said that “we improvised a lot”. Moore said that “the screenwriters didn’t know the script either, but this is old-time TV. A production guy in the back was smoking and doing the chimney effect in the house.”

Shlomo Baraba invited the viewers to the festival, “It’s funny that the last thing Sepi did was a joke contest. It’s one of the funniest and one of the happiest events, and just a celebration, an all-inclusive period party.”
