The Saudi Health Council said that taking vitamin C regularly does not prevent colds.
The council emphasized that taking vitamin C may help shorten the duration of a cold slightly and reduce the severity of symptoms of the common cold.
Symptoms of the common cold include a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, headache, feeling muscle pain, coughing or sneezing, and feeling a slight fever, and it can be treated by getting enough sleep, drinking plenty of fluids, and gargling with warm water is also recommended.
