- Finnish MPs voted to approve a law authorizing Finland’s entry into North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), by 184 votes for and 7 against. With elections scheduled for April 2, Helsinki wants to avoid any political vacuum in order to be able to jump on the NATO bandwagon.
- Presidential adviser Volodymyr Zelensky denied that Ukraine is planning attacks on Russian territory. “Ukraine does not hit the territory of the Russian Federation. Ukraine is waging a defensive war to disoccupy all its territories. It is an axiom. Panic and disintegration processes are accumulating in the Russian Federation, reflected in an increase in internal attacks on infrastructure by unidentified flying objects »said Mykhaïlo Podoliak, Wednesday on Twitter.
- The Russian army said in a statement late Wednesday morning that it had shot down ten Ukrainian drones during an attack attempt « massive » against its installations in annexed Crimea.
- Ukrainian authorities announced on Wednesday morning that several people had died in shelling over the past 24 hours, especially in the Kherson and Donetsk regions.
- The battle rages for control of Bakhmout in the east. « The intensity of the fighting is only increasing”said Tuesday evening the Ukrainian president, while the martyred city is now gripped by Russian forces in the north and south.
- Antony Blinken was expected in New Delhi on Wednesday for a G20 meeting. The head of American diplomacy said on Wednesday “not planning” to meet his Russian counterparts Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Qin Gang at the G20 this week in India, while specifying that he expected to participate in joint sessions with them.
