Mumbai: Harmanpreet Kaur has been appointed as the captain of the Mumbai team that will participate in the Women’s Premier League series.

The first season of the IPL-style Women’s Premier League (WPL) ‘T-20’ series by the Cricket Board of India will begin on March 4 in Mumbai. In total 23 days, 22 matches will be played. Five teams namely Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Lucknow are participating. The matches will be held in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai.

The players for this are auctioned for Rs. Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was bought for 1.8 crores. Mumbai appointed her as the captain of the team who had the experience of being the first player to participate in 150 matches in the international ‘T20’ arena. Apart from this, Nat Siver, Amelia Kerr, Pooja and Yastika have been included in this team. Mumbai face Gujarat in their first match (March 4).
