About one in six long-term users of medicines in the Netherlands do not or hardly talk to a healthcare provider about their use of medicines. As far as the Netherlands Patient Federation is concerned, there must be an annual meeting before the prescription is possibly renewed – a so-called ‘medicine MOT’. The Frisian Pharmacists Organization (FAO) says “a resounding yes” to that idea: “Such a conversation is extremely important. This also fits perfectly with a pharmacist.”
