SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Gerdau (BVMF:) forecasts a “quite strong” year for its North American operations in 2023, with an order backlog in excess of 60 days and facilities in Mexico currently operating at capacity, said the company’s chief executive, Gustavo Werneck, this Wednesday.

The company also expects to raise steel prices in the Brazilian market between March and April so that the difference in values between the alloy produced in Brazil and the imported one is no longer negative, helping to improve the company’s margins, said Werneck, in a conference call with analysts.
