After more than a year without a CEO, the Gitam BBDO Group announced today (Tuesday) that David Anolik, who has until now served as VP, will be appointed CEO of BBDO IM – the group’s strategic consulting and crisis management company.
Anolik joined the company about five years ago after several years of experience in the political and public arena. It will be recalled that in the past year, the company was managed by Ido Har-Tov, CEO of the Gitam Group, who took over the reins of management after former CEO Omri Harush announced his decision to retire.
Although Gitam is recognized by many as an advertising group, in fact its distinguishing advantages over other advertising groups are in the field of media consulting and content, areas that touch on advertising and sometimes generate it, but their methodologies are completely different. The group has two companies that operate in these areas: Fitz, which specializes in content creation and production; And IM, which deals with media consulting and crisis management. Both are considered to be the group’s significant growth engine.
Recall that the group’s founders Moshik Teomim and Modi Kidon, who joined him later, did not grow in the field of advertising, so even though their advertising agency is one of the ten largest advertising agencies, its DNA comes from elsewhere.
As the advertising agency shifted to professional management, Gemini moved aside from day-to-day management and nurtured IM, which over the years has become an arm with a major impact on both group profitability and its ability to raise / maintain budgets. Something about the importance of IM can be learned from the fact that Ido Har-Tov, who currently serves as CEO of the Gitam Group, is considered a foster son of twins and did his first years at IM, which he returned to manage with Hemlock’s retirement.
