After the drop in coal prices: did the electricity tariff go down?

by time news

The Electricity Authority published today (Wednesday) a public hearing to update the electricity price tariff for the consumer, in light of the drop in coal prices and the stabilization of prices in the last two months. According to the proposed hearing, the rate for a representative domestic consumer decreased by 2 percent, following last month’s decrease of 1.5 percent.

In the wording of the hearing, it is stated that the macroeconomic price environment is not stable – including the exchange rate, and the recently increased price index. This increase, and risks arising from it, partially offset the decrease in international coal prices.

The Authority publishes a public hearing on the issue, and will publish its decision after public comments.
