At the beginning of the operation, the accused and Abd al-Rahman used to go out during the day to Tel al-Etzbah and from there they observed and followed the activities of the IDF. Upon arriving home, the accused and Abd al-Rahman prepared written reports in which they documented the movements of the IDF along the fence. Abu Ali used to come to the defendant’s house twice a month and meet with him and Abd al-Rahman. During these meetings, Abu Ali received the reports prepared by the two and gave them a salary.

The indictment states that on 5/21/22 Abdel Rahman was killed during an explosion. After the mourning was over, Abu Ali asked to meet with the accused, and during the meeting, Abu Ali questioned the accused about the scene of Rahman’s death and instructed him to photograph the scene. Abu Ali promised the defendant that Hezbollah would investigate who was responsible for the death of Abdel Rahman.

In the weeks that followed, the defendant and Abu Ali met 5-6 times. On one occasion, the defendant received a salary as well as a sum of NIS 500,000 for his sister, Abdel Rahman’s widow, knowing that this was a reward for Abdel Rahman’s activities in favor of Hezbollah.

During September 2022, Abu Ali informed the defendant that the State of Israel was behind the assassination of Abdel Rahman by firing a missile. At this stage, the accused was asked to renew the collection of information about the activities of the IDF. The accused continued to observe the activities of the IDF forces in the area of ​​the fence, wrote reports and delivered them to Abu Ali in the regular bi-monthly meetings that took place between them.

The accused received a monthly salary of 180,000 Syrian pounds for this activity, as well as the same amount for Abdel Rahman’s family, knowing that this was a reward for Abdel Rahman’s activities for the benefit of the organization.

In December 2022, Abu Ali gave the defendant an amount of 4.5 million Syrian pounds in order for him to give to his sister, the widow of Abdel Rahman, as compensation. During one of the meetings, Abu Ali gave the accused a new camera and instructed him to continue documenting the activities of the IDF with it. The accused acted in accordance with Abu Ali’s instructions, documented the movements of the IDF and gave the full memory card to Abu Ali during the meetings, with the intention of harming the security of the state.

As mentioned, the accused was arrested at the end of January 2023 by an ambush of IDF forces after he entered the territory of Israel.
