New Delhi: Bumrah will go to New Zealand for a back operation.
Indian fast bowler Bumrah is 29. He has been suffering from a back injury since September 2022. Not participating in any series including Asia Cup, 2022 ‘T20’ World Cup. He also withdrew from the Test and ODI series against Australia.
Even after 7 months, the doctors of the Indian Cricket Board advised that an operation should be done without any delay as he could not fully recover. As a result, Bumrah, who is out of the 16th IPL series, will soon go to Christchurch, New Zealand for an operation.
Mumbai’s bowling coach, former fast bowler Shane Bond (News.), has offered to help Bumrah. Prior to this, Bond was amazing to return to competition after undergoing back surgery. Perhaps after the operation and recovers in the next 5 months, Bumrah can participate in the ODI World Cup series at home (October-November).
