Biden is ready to officially recognize the Armenian genocide. The announcement of the massacre, also known as a holocaust of the Armenians, according to rumors leaked from Wall Street Journal and from NY Times, could arrive on April 24 on the occasion of the anniversary.
Saturday will in fact fall the 106th anniversary of the date that marked the beginning of massacres of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire during the Great War. The news, if confirmed, could affect them by damaging their relationships with Ankara, exacerbating an already delicate geopolitical framework, after the re-explosion of conflicts in Nagorno-Karabakh of last fall that have brought the tension between Russians and Turks to the stars.
“An important step” which would mean “towards the affirmation of historical truth”, comments the Guerini and Associates Over 1.5 million people lost their lives in the genocide and an open wound in the history of humanity still remains today.
“The truth has a bad habit of coming out in the end“wrote the Turkish historian Taner Akcam in his latest book Killing Orders (Guerini e Associati), edited for the Italian edition by Antonia Arslan, who through meticulous research on unpublished sources has irrefutably proved the genocidal nature of the extermination.
