Israel and Cyprus sign scientific-technological cooperation agreement: “The Israeli mind is an asset to foreign relations”

Today, Tuesday, December 7, 2001, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Orit Farkash-Hacohen, and the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Technology, Kyriacos Kokkinos, signed an agreement for scientific-technological cooperation between Israel and Cyprus as part of the Israel-Greece-Cyprus trilateral meeting.

The agreement strengthens the scientific and technological collaborations between the countries, and provides a new framework for the promotion and support of scientific and technological ideas and research between the two governments. The agreement will also encourage cooperation between scientific research institutions of the two countries, implementation of joint scientific and technological programs and projects, exchange of scientists and students and creation of initiated scientific research in common areas of interest as agreed by the parties, including preparation for natural disasters (earthquakes, fires, tsunamis), research Marine science and more.
