ECDC removes omikron from list of variants of concern

The omikron variants BA.2, BA.4 and BA.5 are no longer regarded as so-called ‘variants of concern’, reports the European health service ECDC. Those sub-variants of the coronavirus are no longer circulating on the continent, the institute says. Due to the decision, there are officially no more corona variants that are causing great concern.
