Already from March 1. a free BOOKMARKET service and a BOOK RETURN BOX are available. A book machine and a book return box are located at the precinct.
The book machine service is a convenient, contactless way to borrow library publications and pick them up at any time of the day and any day of the week. The reader who ordered the book on the website ibblioteka.lt or by phone or e-mail will receive an SMS message with a collection code, which he will have to enter on the screen of the book machine. The ordered publications will be stored for 72 hours. from receiving the SMS, publications not collected during that time will be returned to the funds.
Readers can safely return the borrowed publications at home by using the book return box. Publications can be returned at a time convenient for the reader – at any time of the day and any day of the week.

Birštonas Public Library participates in the activities of the project “Innovative solutions to promote reading in Lithuanian libraries for the creation of social relations between children and youth with the environment”, which is organized by the Panevėžys G. Petkevičaitė-Bitės public library together with partners: public libraries of Kaunas, Klaipėda I. Simonaitytė counties and creative studio BLACK BOOK (Norway). A book machine and a book return box were installed as part of this project.
The project is financed in 2014-2021. Funded by the European Economic Area and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms “Development of Cultural Accessibility and Strengthening of Cultural Education”.
