Watan Al-Youm – The Department of Statistics issued its quarterly report on the unemployment rate in the Kingdom for the fourth quarter of 2022, and the following is a review of the most important results:
The unemployment rate during the fourth quarter of 2022 reached (22.9%), a decrease of 4 percentage points from the fourth quarter of 2021, and a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from the third quarter of 2022.
While the unemployment rate for males during the fourth quarter of 2022 reached (20.6%) compared to (31.7%) for females. It is clear that the unemployment rate for males decreased by 8 percentage points and increased for females by 1.0 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.
By comparing the unemployment rate for the fourth quarter of 2022 with the third quarter of 2022, it becomes clear that the unemployment rate increased for males by 1 percentage point, and decreased for females by 1.4 percentage points.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister, Bishr Al-Khasawneh, launched a program last April National Employment 2022 “running,” which, according to what Khasawneh indicated at the time, is expected to provide 60,000 job opportunities for Jordanians in the private sector, as the government at that time allocated an amount of 80 million dinars to launch the national program, in addition to expanding the empowerment of the private sector.
