Barco surpassed himself, but his solution to the crisis is far from “meteoric”. Review

by time news

First of all, I must point out that last night in Ofira and Barko’s show, there was an interesting moment from a political point of view, when rivalry and tension were evident between Deri’s strategic advisor and Ben Gabir’s advisor, who seemed as if there was no unanimity between them at all, even though they supposedly belong to the same sector. In the stormy confrontation between the two, the fingerprint of Deri stood out, who is better known for his moderation compared to the extremism of Itamar Ben Gabir’s adviser, who made senseless things.

Again Barko surpassed himself and threw at Deri’s advisor the million dollar question that cowards of their kind usually avoid asking, lest they hurt the feelings of the ultra-Orthodox: Why do we citizens who work and pay taxes and serve in the army, have to be suckers and finance the ultra-Orthodox sector that does not work and does not serve? It should be noted that we never received a clear answer to this question that popped up from time to time in one forum or another, not this time either.

Last night I had a dream. And in my dream, Barko appeared, disguised as Mordechai the Jew, and was seen running through the streets of the city of Shushan looking for a balm for the affliction that had recently taken over him, due to the difficult situation of the Jews in Persia.

On his way, he stops good Jews and turns to them with a question: Tell me, what are we doing in this bad country, do you have a solution? I have to find a solution. Then he remembered that he had promised his partner to drop by the neighborhood butcher and buy a chicken breast for the gondi stew she was planning for lunch.

Even the butcher who was once a wise and respected rabbi but came back with a question, Barko asks: Do you have a solution? The butcher chuckled sadly and said to him: Come on, with two eunuchs of King Ahasuerus, like Baghetan and Tarsh, who are stubborn and stubborn and unwilling to stop even for a moment, and certainly not for two months, their campaign of hatred against the Jews and their legal system known throughout the world as the most enlightened, you Want to find a solution? No way.

From here, the dream branched out and more characters were added and the same eunuchs of the king, Bagatan and Tarsh, disguised themselves on Purim as Rival Levin and Simcha Rothman, and both of them conspire with the intention of passing the reform, because they know that this will stir up unrest in the people, and all the responsibility will fall on Netanyahu. That is, they want to see his failure, so that they can take his place.

As you know, in a dream, reality and imagination mix together, and apparently the dream stemmed from some headline that I read during the week on one of the websites, that Rival Levin is squinting at the crown.

When I woke up and asked myself how such strange dreams landed on me, I remembered that on his weekly show with Ofira last night, Barko kept asking all his guests to provide him with a solution, no matter which one, even off the cuff.

Most of them rattled off their usual gibberish, but none of them managed to ease the mental agony that plagued Barco. Except for one guest. Ehud Barak, who offered a solution and even promised Barko, that the outline he is proposing, he will of course write in his own name, and in his most generous manner, will also add Barko’s name.

And why would he do that? Because Barko himself also proposed his own solution, which Ofira called: a meteoric solution, and was acceptable to Ehud, but only in part. And why only in part? Because Barko offered to stop the trial against Netanyahu, and the Jews will have light and joy. In his opinion, the whole mess started from the moment indictments were filed against Netanyahu, and because of them, the coup d’état started.

Ehud Barak looked at Barko with a slightly amused eye and explained to him as one would explain to a small child that one should not give in to blackmail. Ofira also reinforced his words and asked: So from today on, for every criminal, we will give up and forgive him if he threatens to make a mess?

The truth is that I too, some time ago, thought like Barko, that perhaps it would be better in light of the situation, to drop the indictments against Netanyahu and he would be able to act quietly and safely for the good of the country, without being bothered with legal matters. But on second thought, it’s not a simple solution. Because if they cancel Netanyahu’s trial, why won’t every ordinary person who will be indicted in the future claim that he also wants his offenses to be expunged?

And if we talk in football terms, as Barco usually uses in debates in the studio, would he want penalty kicks to be easily waived against those who break the rules, just because he threatens to turn the field into a battlefield instead of maintaining a fair game?

So Barko’s solution is not exactly “meteoric”, and even completely contradicts the purpose for which today the masses come out to protest and fight for moral and ethical Israel. The cancellation of the indictments will not only be a poke in the eye of this righteous protest, but the removal of the entire eye.

On the other hand, I was encouraged by the words of Ehud Barak, who promised Barak that if the delusional laws the government wants to pass are implemented, the High Court will reject them, and that he is sure that everyone who considers himself the gatekeeper of democracy, including people from the Likud, would rather obey the High Court’s instructions than the politicians. I tend to believe that it will. Thank God, in the High Court, his strength is still in his waist, despite the government’s threats to weaken him.
