To live happily, live in hiding… This week, Paris FC refused any outward communication, not even organizing a real press conference. A damaging withdrawal when the victory against Niort (3-0), the 3rd of the season at Charléty, finally broke a negative series of five unsuccessful games (1 point out of 15). It has, in any case, allowed Thierry Laurey, who would necessarily have been very threatened in the event of a new setback, to save his head and to be able to finish his contract which ends on June 30.
By the next international break at the end of March, the Parisians will play three out of four times (Guingamp this Saturday, Amiens on the 14th and Bastia on the 18th) on their cursed turf in Charléty. But after the laying of plates over 3,500 m2, the surface finally looked like a real lawn against Niort. The question now is whether it will hold up over time, especially since in addition to Paris FC’s three L2 matches, there will also be a women’s D1 match against Montpellier in March (Friday 10) and the National derby between Paris 13 Atletico and Red Star (Tuesday 28).
While waiting for major upheavals (staff, workforce) in a few weeks for the next season, which will have to be that of the takeover, Paris FC will try to end this season on at least an honorable note. It starts with this match against Guingamp, a “little twin” team: same ambition to play at the top of the table aborted, same number of points and same course (12 points at home and 19 away).
Maxime Bernauer absent, Mehdi Chahiri still sidelined
From Brittany, the failed season of Paris FC still intrigues the EAG coach, Stéphane Dumont: “We could not have imagined that from them at the start of the season. We see that it is hard for everyone. I think they certainly have circumstances and hazards like us, we may have suffered at times. They must have encountered difficulties that we are not able to detect from here, but they are still a good team in our championship, that’s for sure. It remains a quality workforce with a quality coach Thierry Laurey, in a quality club. »
Effective level, Sekou Sanogo, Lebobang Phiri, who will resume the race next week, Warren Caddy and Pierre-Yves Hamel (left in a rehabilitation center at home in Lorient) are still absent. Maxime Bernauer, certainly the most regular player this season, is suspended. Loup-Diwan Gueho who will sign his first pro contract imminently and Mehdi Chahiri, sanctioned and sent all last week in reserve (N3) were not retained. Author of a decisive pass against Niort for his first minutes in L2 with Paris FC, Kevin Mbala (21), was again called up to the group.
