The Benghazi Security Directorate announced the arrest of an Egyptian expatriate who has been sentenced in absentia for up to eight years in connection with the incidents of trafficking and drug abuse, and he is wanted by the Anti-Narcotics Agency.

The directorate said statement To her, today, Saturday, the Public Investigation Department was able to arrest an Egyptian national who had been sentenced in absentia.

The Directorate stated that, in implementation of the instructions issued by the Director of Benghazi Security, which stipulates the arrest of those wanted by the judiciary and at police stations and departments, information was received about an Egyptian national who is wanted by the Public Prosecution and against whom judgments were issued in absentia pending the incidents of drug trafficking and abuse.

The Directorate indicated that the head of the General Investigations Department of the Benghazi Security Directorate, Colonel Ashraf Al-Shaltami, issued instructions to seize the wanted person, and the investigations members moved to the location of the wanted person in the village area.

The Directorate said that the wanted person was seized in possession of narcotic hashish and a drug of abuse, and after moving him to the department, and by inference with him, it was found that his name was “M.O.A,” born in 1987, an Egyptian national, and he confessed to what was attributed to him and was referred to the Agency for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
