the French team wins the mixed relay

by time news

Without its usual headliners Julia Simon, Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet, Quentin Fillon-Maillet or even Emilien Jacquelin, French biathlon still has resources and the whole future ahead of it.

Sunday, on the track of Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic, a team led by Fabien Claude – the most experienced biathlete of 28 years old – and also composed of Caroline Colombo (26 years old), Lou Jeanmonnot (24 years old) and Eric Perrot (21 years old ) – won ahead of Sweden and Norway in the mixed relay. She shot 20 out of 20 with seven picks and is ahead of her competitors by 33 seconds and 38 seconds.

This event counted for the Biathlon World Cup. Bronze medalist at the World Championships in Oberhof (Germany) a month ago, but with a totally different composition (the quartet Simon, Chevalier-Bouchet, Jacquelin and Fillon-Maillet), the French mixed relay managed a superb performance. The French sign their second victory in the mixed relay of the winter after that of Pokljuka (Slovenia) at the beginning of January.
